Endorsed by China Association for International Education (hereinafter referred to as CAFSA) and organized by the School of International Education and School of Science of China Pharmaceutical University, Study in China-the 9th International Pharmacy Students Academic Forum was successfully held on December 11th in Nanjing. This forum was held both online and offline. The online venue adopted Metaverse virtual venue technology for the first time, and it was conducted in a combination of "Online+ Offline+ Metaverse mode". The forum attracted more than 200 Chinese and foreign students from Monash University in Australia, Xi 'an Jiaotong University, Tianjin University, Soochow University University, Ningxia Medical University, Wenzhou Medical University and China Pharmaceutical University. Liu Jinghui, President of CAFSA, Wang Qian, Deputy Secretary-General of CAFSA, Kong Lingyi, Vice President of China Pharmaceutical University, Shi Yunyu, Director of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation Division of Jiangsu Education Department, Zhang Haijun, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of Jiangsu Association for International Education (hereinafter referred to as JAFSA), and leaders of relevant departments of China Pharmaceutical University and Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group were invited to attend the opening ceremony of the forum. The opening ceremony was presided over by Xu Ming, Dean of the School of International Education.
At the opening ceremony, Vice President Kong Lingyi delivered an opening speech. He expressed his warn congratulations to the 9th International Pharmacy Students Academic Forum, and his sincere gratitude for the guidance and strong support given by CAFSA, Jiangsu Education Department and JAFSA, as well as the active participation of partner universities and students. He pointed out that since 2021, the " International Pharmacy Students Academic Forum " was officially incorporated into the "Study in China" series of academic activities of CAFSA, the influence of the forum has been further enhanced, and the number of participating institutions and the quality of works submitted have been greatly improved. It is hoped that the forum will be further reformed and innovated in the future to attract more international pharmacy students to participate, and the forum will be built into a brand-name academic activity for international pharmacy students to show their achievements and explore scientific frontiers.
Subsequently, Liu Jinghui, President of CAFSA, delivered an online speech. On behalf of CAFSA, she warmly congratulated the successful convening of the forum. She emphasized that promoting the opening-up of higher education is inevitable for a powerful nation of education, and the education of international students in China is one of the important measures to promote the opening-up of education. CAFSA highly recognizes the achievements and influence of the International Pharmacy Students Academic Forum of China Pharmaceutical University, encourages the continuous and wide-ranging academic exchanges and cooperation, and actively innovates new forms of international cooperation and academic exchanges. She fully affirmed the Metaverse virtual venue adopted by the academic forum, and said that CAFSA will increase its support and guidance for the forum, and work together with China Pharmaceutical University to make greater contributions to the vigorous development of international students' education in China.
Shi Yunyu, Director of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation Division of Jiangsu Education Department, Zhang Haijun, Zhang Haijun, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of JAFSA, and Bu Wanwan, Director of Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group, delivered speeches respectively, expressing warm congratulations on the convening of the forum and indicating that they will continue to support the training of international pharmacy talents of CPU in the future. At the end of the opening ceremony, Professor Zhao Jin from Nanjing University, Professor Dou Xiaowei from China Pharmaceutical University, and Dr. Kim Jisu, a postdoctoral fellow of Fudan University, the student representative of previous award-winning reports of the Forum, gave keynote speeches. On-site guests and students actively asked questions and interacted, and the academic atmosphere was lively.
On the afternoon of the same day, 10 international students from 7 universities at home and abroad made academic reports, and 30 Chinese and foreign students completed the academic wall newspaper display at the Metaverse virtual venue. After fierce competition, Ali Said from Soochow University won the first prize of report, Faiz Ullah Khan from Xi 'an Jiaotong University and Hamza El Alami from China Pharmaceutical University won the second prize of report, Fatima Zahoor from Monash University, Umm E Swaiba from Tianjin University and Joshua Banda from Wenzhou Medical University won the third prize of report. Yue Wu from China Pharmaceutical University won the first prize of poster, Faisal Raza from Anhui Medical University, Raj Richa from China Pharmaceutical University won the second prize, Huaqing Jing from Tianjin University, Bhumika Kumar from Delhi University of Pharmaceutical Science and Research and Khaliun Jargalsaikhan from Mongolia National Medical University won the third prize of poster.
International Pharmacy Students Academic Forum (IPSAF) was first launched in 2014. It is a large-scale international academic conference in pharmacy related fields at the international student level sponsored by the School of International Education of China Pharmaceutical University. The forum includes expert keynote reports, international student reports, symposiums, featured poster exhibitions and other special academic activities. The forum aims to promote exchanges and cooperation among international pharmacy students, build a platform for exchange of academic research achievements, and provide a unique opportunity and platform for international students around the world to display academic achievements, discuss and explore cutting-edge scientific progress, exchange and inspire new ideas.
