2026 CPU Chinese Government Scholarship "Silk Road" Program Admission Notice



In order to deepen the education cooperation with the Belt and Road partner countries and to cultivate professionals for these countries, the Ministry of Education P.R.C has set up the "Chinese Government Scholarship-Silk Road Program" since 2017. This scholarship program is provided to China's high-level universities for recruiting the outstanding young students from the Belt and Road partner countries to pursue degrees in China.




Part.01 When and Where to Apply

Applicants should fill in the application information, upload the required documents and complete the online application on CPU Application Platform before the deadline. Students who have obtained admission eligibility to our university and are on the nominated list for the Chinese Government Scholarship Silk Road Program must also log in to the China Scholarship Council (CSC) system within the specified timeframe to submit their scholarship application. (The Agency Number for China Pharmaceutical University is 10316; Choose Program Category Type B).

Part.03 Eligibility

1. Country Requirements: Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, Tanzania, Egypt, Russia, Uzbekistan



2. Requirements for applicants’ degree and age:

(1) Applicants applying for a Bachelor degree should hold a high school diploma and be under the age of 25;

(2) Applicants applying for a Master degree should hold a Bachelor diploma and be under the age of 35;

(3) Applicants applying for a PhD degree should hold a Master diploma and be under the age of 40;



3. Language proficiency requirements:

(1) Chinese-taught programs applicants need to submit HSK-4 certificate (score 220 or above).(Native Chinese speakers or applicants taught in Chinese during previous study may be exempted from the HSK test after certified by China Pharmaceutical University);

(2) English-taught programs applicants need to submit an English proficiency certificate (Native English speakers are exempted).

TOEFL: no less than 90, IELTS: no less than 6.5.(Native English speakers are exempted. Applicants who obtained their highest diploma taught in English may provide a certificate of English instruction instead of an IELTS or TOEFL certificate.)



4. Other Requirements:

5. Applicants should be of good moral character, physically and mentally healthy, and willing to abide by Chinese laws and regulations as well as the rules and disciplines of China Pharmaceutical University.

Part.04 Scholarship Coverage

1. Tuition waiver and accommodation on campus (double room);



2. Monthly Living Allowance:

(1) 2,500 RMB/month for Bachelor students;

(2) 3,000 RMB/month for Master students;

(3) 3,500 RMB/month for PhD students;



3. Comprehensive medical insurance for international students in China under the Chinese Government Scholarship.

Please upload all listed documents below to the application system:

1. Photocopy of passport (Ordinary passport expires after September 2026)



2. Scan of notarized copy of the high school, Bachelor, and Master academic transcripts (Applicants who will not graduate before the application deadline must provide their current academic transcript. In this case, the completed academic transcripts must be submitted before registration)

3. Scan Copy of high school, Bachelor or Master Diploma. Scan of pre-graduation certificate is required if the applicants have not gained a degree certificate before the application deadline. Please resubmit the notarized copy of the highest diploma before registration



4.Chinese or English Proficiency Certificate (for more requirements, please refer to Eligibility)



5. A valid transcript of the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA). (Only undergraduate applicants are required; for more requirements, please refer to Eligibility)



6. Study Experience Resume (The start and end time of each education experience must be uninterrupted, and education level should start from senior middle school. Please download the template in the link below.)



7. Provisional Acceptance Letter of International Student by CPU Professor (For Master and PhD programs only, please download the template in the link below: https://international.cpu.edu.cn/366/list.htm)



8. Study or research plan: for the Bachelor program, no less than 600 words in English or Chinese; for the Master program, no less than 800 words in English or Chinese; for the Ph.D. program, no less than 1000 words in English or Chinese; (with the signature of CPU professor)



9. Two recommendation letters in English or Chinese from two professors or associate professors (Compulsory for Master & PhD applicants)



10. Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (The medical examinations must cover all the items listed and should be valid within 6 months. Please download the template in the link below: https://international.cpu.edu.cn/366/list.htm)



11. Applicants who are now in China must submit a scan of the photocopy of Visa



12. Non-Criminal Record (or Police Clearance Certificate) issued by the local public security (issued within six months prior to the submission date of the application)

Part.07 Admission Procedures

1.Application:

From now until 17th May 2026;



2. CPU Review and interview: 

18th May 2026-20th May 2026

Interview arrangements will be notified through email of CPU online platform. Applicants who fail to attend the interview are deemed to be giving up the application;



3. China Scholarship Council Review: China Pharmaceutical University will submit the preliminarily reviewed application materials to the China Scholarship Council (CSC), which will make the final admission decisions and notify the university of the results (the specific timeline will be determined by the CSC);



4. Result Release: CPU will announce the admission result officially on website, and send Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201) to scholarship winners by 31st July;



5. Registration: from the end of August to the early September, 2026 (subject to the date on the official admission notice).
