A national mourning event will be held on April 4, 2020 (Qingming Festival) in order to express the deep condolences of the people across the country for the sacrifice of martyrs and deceased compatriots in the epidemic, according to the announcement of China's State Council. During the day, national flags in China and Chinese embassies and consulates abroad will be flown at half-mast. All public entertainment activities will be stopped. From 10 AM on April 4th, people across the country shall stop their work, stand up, and pay a three-minute silent tribute. Cars, trains and ships honk their horns as sirens howl over the city.

CPU’s mourning activities requirements are announced as follows:

10AM, April 4, the national flag will be flown at half-mast at 1936 Square, Jiangning Campus. All faculty and students on campus shall pay silent tribute at their nearest convenience from 10AM to 10:03AM. Faculty and students off-campus in China shall stop all public entertainment activities the whole day April 4th. Thank you for cooperation!
