About "Seeking Dreams in Jiangsu, Giving a Thumbs-up to Jiangsu"stories and short videos competition for international students

A. Theme

Theevent is themed "Seeking Dreams in Jiangsu,Giving a Thumbs-up to Jiangsu". Contributors can submitstories or videos sharing their connections with the Chinese language, inspiredcultural experiences, reflections on their work and studies, as well as piecesonJiangsu's development and thewell-beingof its people.

The event aims to portrayadmiration ofJiangsu through the eyes of international studentscapturing their living and studying in Jiangsu, sharing how they pursue their dreams and witnessing the striving forward of Jiangsu in the new era.

Contributions: Sept 16-Oct 10

Online exhibition: Oct 21-Dec 31

C. Requirements

a) Stories

Based on the event theme and personal experiences, contributors are free to design their stories, titles and literature forms, while keepingtheir plots decent, complete and rich in detail. Stories written in Chinese should be 800 to 1,500 wordslong; while English stories shall be around 800 words. One to two pictures, with captions, reflectingthe contributor'sliving and study conditions, are also recommended. The pictures should be 1-5MB in JPEG or PNGformats.

b) Short videos

Short videos, filmed and edited in Chinese or English, shall be original works with complete plots, clear pictures and be easy to promote. Contributors can go on camera to share their first-person perspectives; they can also seek help from others in filming.At a length of 30 seconds to 4 minutes, the videos shall include subtitles, background music and voiceovers, along with their dpi being no less than 1280*720 (16:9). Words introducing the work or the contributor's creativeintentionsare required, no more than 200 Chinese words or 150 English words.

c) Contributor's personal information shall be included: name (English full name is required, Chinese full name is optional), gender, age, nationality, mobile phone number, school and major and personal photos.

d) The contributions including stories, photos and short videos must be original and never copied or modified. The organizers have the right to disqualify candidates and cancel their works once any violation of third party copyright is found. The organizers are not responsible for such violations.

e) Tutors' names, if any, shall also be included in the contributions.

f) The content of the contributions shall be in line with the laws and regulations ofthe People's Republic of China.

School of International Education will recommend on a selective basis. 500 yuan bonus will be awarded to the authors of the chosen stories or short videos.
