To further promote CPU and build the brand of "Study in CPU", School of International Education held the Fourth International High School Principals Forum online on December 9th. This year's forum focused on the preparatory education for international students and online Chinese programs, with more than 20 participants from the high schools and education groups from Mongolia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh, Tanzania, Ghana, and Spain, etc. Mr. Zhu Zhilong, vice dean of School of International Education, attended the forum.
At the beginning of the forum, Vice Dean Mr. Zhu extended a warm welcome to the principals and guests. He said, as one of the universities under the initiative of "Project 211" and "Double First-class", CPU has been actively promoting international cooperation and steadily improving the quality of international students' education. He also pointed out that China's education for international students has attached greater importance to quality and efficiency, which has higher requirements for preparatory education and Chinese proficiency. He hoped this forum could serve as a platform for experience sharing and international cooperation, deepening mutual trust and understanding and promoting multi-level cooperation between the two sides. Ms. Zhang Chen, from School of International Education, gave a detailed introduction to CPU, including the university history, discipline features, pharmaceutical education and scientific research achievements, international cooperation, and enrollment policies of international students.
Ms. Yu Xiaori and Ms. Yang Qianqian from Chinese Language Teaching and Research Department of School of International Education respectively introduced the Chinese preparatory education and Chinese language and culture programs of CPU, including the Chinese language curriculum, faculty development, Chinese Language and Culture Center and the preparation of the application for HSK test center. Later, Mr. Meng Laihu, President of Wisdom Bridge Elite School, Mongolia, Mr. Fan Suyuan, Vice-President of Yuankui Chinese Language School, Vietnam and Yudith, representative of INA Study Education Group in Indonesia, gave their speeches respectively.
In the Q&A session, School of International Education and participants exchanged ideas on educational cooperation for international students under the background of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the online language test, short-term language and culture programs, undergraduate enrollment policy, and application process and requirements, etc. Participants said that although it was held online due to the pandemic, they further understood CPU. In the future, they will actively promote in-depth cooperation between domestic high schools and related institutions and CPU and recommend more outstanding students to study in CPU.
